Born to Indian parents in Canada, Russell Peters started performing when he was 19 in Toronto. Ever since then he has performed across the world to packed arenas and critical acclaim. In June 2007, Russell became the first comedian to sell-out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre – performing for over 30,000 fans over two nights. In addition to this first-time feat, in February 2008, Russell became one of only a handful of comedians to ever headline and sell-out the world famous Madison Square Garden.

Being of Indian origin, he enjoys the support of the community living abroad. “The Indian community around the world has been extremely supportive of me over the last several years and I’m very grateful for that. But so have other Asian communities like the Chinese, Filipino and Pakistani communities. In Canada, the majority of my audience is white Canadians, Europeans and people from the Caribbean.”
