Update: Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan in concert
One of the most brilliant musical gems of the famous Etawah Gharana, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan belongs to the seventh generation of his musical lineage. A very young Shahid Parvez was initiated into the hallowed realms of vocal music and tabla by his illustrious father and Guru, Ustad Aziz Khan, before training on the Sitar. He was recognized as a child prodigy and started performing in public at the age of 8. His mastery over vocal music and the ‘Tantrakari Baaj’ (instrumental technique) add a unique richness to his music. He is a top grade artist of All India Radio and has received many awards including the ‘Sangeet Natak Academy Award’, ‘Sur Shringaar’, ‘Kumar Gandharva Samman’ & ‘M.L. Koser Award’
